Happy holidays! Regular posts to return in the New Year!

Team, It’s been a minute… I apologize for the extended absence over the last two months but no worries, I come back bearing good news. More about that in a minute. First, I hope this holiday season has been tremendous thus far, and that you are able to spend great quality time with family and good friends. We’ve been working hard on getting our business up and running (definitely more about that to come), traveling to see family, and preparing for the Christmas season we so enjoy. It has been a busy few months and my first post will detail a little more about why I haven’t published anything lately, but let’s just say starting a business while being a respectable husband, father, and full-time employee of a different business can be challenging if your priorities aren’t straight. I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself here so […]

Make no excuses

Hi Team! I’ve heard the cries, and the wondering, and the tears (too far??). I’ve been MIA over the past few weeks and although that will happen from time-to-time, I didn’t give you guys (and gals) a heads-up first. My bad. Fear not. We have some great stuff coming for you in the weeks ahead! There are posts with some great holiday tips, helping us to stay fit and to only slightly over-eat. I’ve been doing some reading/listening and plan to share with you some great books and podcasts I’ve read/heard over the past few weeks. The financial pillar (for us millennials) series will resume. Remember Jon and Heather? The young millennial couple working their way out of student loan debt… Well, we have an exciting update for you! We have a new guest-blogger to introduce as well. I’m excited and grateful to have you hear and reading! Talk with you […]

Updates for August ‘16

(Photo by SMW)   Hi Team!   Oh, man, do we have some good things coming up this month. Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, though… How are you guys? All’s well I hope. We’re having a great summer over here. Just capped off the 3rd wedding of a sibling in 11 months, the sister-in-law had a baby recently, and we’ve had a great vacation. No dull moments for this family!   As far as MikedUp Blog is concerned, here’s a look a some of what’s ahead for August:   – We’ll start to uncover our Financial pillars for us millennials.   – We also have some big news! Our first contribution from a guest blogger will be published in early August. She has worked in the healthcare field for over 30 years, has been a contributing author on 11 scientific publications, and currently works as a clinical research […]

July updates – Happy Independence Day!

Hi Team! I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Independence Day! We had a great time visiting friends and are now back home enjoying this July weather.     As we typically do, below are some updates about what to expect with MikedUp Blog’s coming month. Thanks for being here! The conclusion to Why can’t dudes do Zumba too? will be posted this Friday! The first installment was well received and I know the second is full of more outlandish stories… Believe it or not. Oh, and maybe we’ll answer the title question along the way too? After that post, we’ll be taking 2 weeks off from posting our new content. With summer comes vacations, visiting family members, weddings, and other important life activities. We are still developing new content and will continue writing/filming, so fear not – we’ll be coming back strong with our new content after the break! What […]

Summer is upon us and so are… June updates!

Hi Team! I know it’s cliche and apparently obligatory but I’ll say it anyhow – my the time is a flyin’ by… Thank you guys so much for reading and for sharing, I truly appreciate it! People have seemed to enjoy our posts about Jon and Heather, Drew (wounded warrior), and saving money by reducing fixed expenses most recently – If you haven’t had a chance to read those yet, please check them out.   We have some pretty awesome stuff coming up in June and I’m excited to share a few of those with you. Here are our June updates: We’re putting the finishing touches on me trying out a variety of fitness classes that are typically comprised of ladies only. Everything short of pole dancing is on the table (yes that’s a workout class and no, I’m not abstaining (see what I did there) because I’m afraid – I couldn’t […]

B) We have some exciting posts in the works that will be coming to you in the very near future. Experimentation with finding ways to save money in the monthly budget (this one may surprise you), experimentation with a variety of fitness classes and routines that us fellas typically stay away from (I’m excited to break down some barriers with this one – already in progress), and our story about a modern-day veteran – a hero – and his tough journey home. I  hope you’ll enjoy these and the posts coming after them as much as I enjoy writing […]

May forecast

Hi Team! I’m excited to share with you some of what we have in store for May – but first I want to say a huge ‘thank you’ to all our readers! We’ve had a great response in our first two months since launch and we truly appreciate you all being here! With that being said, here’s some of what’s in store for May: Warren Buffett made a significant wager about 8 years ago. Although his strategy in this bet has been widely reported, I’m excited to share my opinions about why his bet has been so successful to this point. Sometimes a perfect Sunday makes for a nice day at the park and sometimes 30 year-olds shouldn’t play with kids’ toys… Because said 30 year-olds injure themselves – this will be one such story Of course we have a new fitness week coming your way very soon! And yes, this will […]

Other than April Showers, here are a few things we’re excited to share with you in the coming weeks! Our April plans:   A workout challenge is coming your way very soon. Competing against yourself, or a friend of yours, is on the docket. This is complete with ‘instructional’ video with backdrop not consisting of a beige wall… I’m very excited about this one. We are also working on a post about experiences with group fitness. The final installment of our 10 financial musts under age 20. Hopefully you’ve enjoyed the 8 previous Musts. These last two complete our foundation for more in depth financial posts in the future. Segue: Towards the end of the month I plan to share with you a story of Jon and Heather, a married couple who are on track to pay off $82,000 in student loans… In 15 months!! They are well over […]
