Hi Team! This post introduces Brittany, a new guest blogger, that’s an average woman in her 20’s. You know, if average is losing 18 total inches, 17 pounds, and gaining heaps of energy and confidence by making a few life altering adjustments to nutrition and fitness. Here, Brittany shares a bit of her story with you. We hope you enjoy!

Fitness

noun: a general state of health and well-being and, more specifically, the ability to perform aspects of sports, occupations, and daily activities.

Health

noun: a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

Wellness

noun: an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life. Wellness is more than being free from illness; it is a dynamic process of change and growth.

How do you go from someone who rarely ever worked out and hardly paid attention to what they ate, to someone who works out 4-6 days a week and eats well 95% of the time?

October 2015: my husband and I had just celebrated our one year wedding anniversary, and the discussion of having kids naturally came up. Because of a past medical diagnosis of PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome), I knew having kids was going to be difficult. To give myself – and my family – the best chance, I needed to lose weight and lead a healthier lifestyle. It wasn’t going to be easy, and although I wasn’t completely out of shape, I was nowhere close to being fit either.

With newfound motivation, I started my journey by stumbling across a free 15 day fit body challenge through Ideal Shape. At the time this was perfect because the body challenge  included pre-planned workouts and meal plans. This program’s design helped make it easy for me to both see where I needed to change my diet eating habits, and to learn what types of exercises I needed to introduce into my vocabulary. Sticking with (and finishing!) this challenge gave me a few things:

I lost both weight and inches, which is a lot more than nothing, but more than that I gained a ton of confidence. As a novice, I didn’t know if finishing this challenge was possible. Doing so showed me that achieving a fitness goal was possible, and that possibility provided some motivation to kickstart my fitness journey.

This was the jump start I needed!

The next thing I knew I was consistently exercising at least 4 days a week and eating healthier every day. Yes, I still had those days… Where it was hard to say no to the sweets or where I didn’t feel like working out, but I stayed consistent.

By February 2016 (about 4 months), I had lost close to 10 pounds and over 10 inches! I had started to find my fitness stride. New workouts and healthy foods were seeming to pop up all over the place.

This was when I started seeing my friend post about Plexus, a health and wellness company that deals primarily in natural supplements.

I was intrigued by what I found out about the company and curious to know more. After researching, I realized how much it could potentially help me – in more ways then I even imagined. I asked for a sample, tried it, and the rest is history.

One thing I loved most about Plexus before starting was that the products were all natural and plant based. Another push was a result of reading the testimonies of so many people with various health concerns that were alleviated simply from taking healthy supplements.

People with similar medical histories to mine that saw immense success and even became pregnant after trying for years after only being on these products for a few months.

Seeing those posts got me to really think about what I was putting in my body. It was wild to see how different things that you eat, that are in your environment, can play such a huge role in how your body operates.

So I ordered it, and eventually became an ambassador to get wholesale pricing. In the beginning, I didn’t want to share with others that I was using these products, and it didn’t even cross my mind to get in it with the hope of earning money. After I saw the changes to myself though, I wanted others to be able to feel their best too! After a couple weeks of taking the TriPlex combo, I already noticed that I had more energy that lasted all day. Gone were the days of coming home from work and needing to sit down before even contemplating dinner or a workout. My husband and I went an entire week without turning on the TV!! This hadn’t happened in who knows how long! It was a great feeling.

This increase in energy boosted my mood and gave me the push I needed to start wanting to workout everyday. My typical week consists of a combination of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), strength training, yoga and cardio.

This was the ultimate positive feedback loop.

After working out daily, I didn’t want to waste all that hard work. No. Now I wanted to eat healthier too.

I make sure to drink at least ½ my body weight in ounces of water a day (usually more), aim to eat fruits and vegetables as most of my snacks, and get in my daily dose of protein. In combination with healthier eating, I also take all natural supplements that help provide my body with the nutrients it needs for me to lead a healthy lifestyle.

With this combination of a more active lifestyle, a healthier diet, and Plexus products, I had fewer headaches, more energy, and better moods, but most importantly – I felt better than I ever had.

Fast forward to today:

I very rarely go more than 3 days without working out, and if I fall off the healthy eating train for a meal or two, I am eager to jump back on! After losing about 17 pounds, and 18 inches total (which seemed impossible to me at the beginning), I have crazy, sustained energy; I don’t crave sweets; I want to eat healthy foods, and work out!

By having a purpose for getting healthy and fit, it has helped drive me to continue on my journey and to not give up. This increase in fitness and health gives me the affirmation that I’m in a better position to have kids soon. What’s more, I want to be able to do it the healthy and natural way, without a ton of medications manipulating my body to do something. Something that it will do on its own with the right foundation and balance.

This is my story of how I changed my lifestyle and life around to be so much healthier.

Utilizing a few tools – natural supplements, determination and mostly a purpose – has helped me  get closer to the top of the mountain.

I am writing this post to challenge you. I’m challenging you to find your purpose and to find a healthier version of yourself. With some determination and hard work, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish! Stock up with the right tools to help you reach your goals, and those goals will be that much easier to achieve!

The beginning of diet is DIE, and beginning of lifestyle is LIFE. One is sustainable, healthy and fuels your body; the other creates hardship and harm on your body. Make your choice, and see the difference it can make!
