Our Saturday morning shout-outs highlight a post/article/book/other that I’ve come across lately that deserves exactly that: a ‘shout-out.’ The goal here is to hopefully introduce my readers to other authors or bloggers that have had an impact on me, my writing, and my life.
This week’s shout-out is: “Why I stopped listening to music while I shower” by Gonzalo at Win/Despair
It’s not too difficult to see all the noise around us in the world. With cell phones constantly available, notifications buzzing, podcasts playing, and God forbid an actual human trying to talk with you, the inputs can get overwhelming. This article does a great job at identifying those points, but then also giving us some actionable advice on what to do about it.
I’ve actually stopped listening to music when I shower and I’ve noticed a change since employing that practice. Another thing I’ll do is leave the lights off (we have one of those long, rectangular windows near the ceiling that does let outside light in) while I’m in there. The combination has created a kind of meditating process and I love it. If you want to see what the fuss is all about and read a thought-provoking article – check this one out!
Thanks for reading!
