Hello all! Our Saturday morning shout-outs highlight a post/article/book/other that I’ve come across lately that deserves exactly that: a ‘shout-out.’ The goal here is to hopefully introduce my readers to other authors or bloggers that have had an impact on me, my writing, and my life.
This week’s shout-out is: Ten things outstanding job candidates do differently by Liz Ryan (courtesy of Forbes).
Oh, this one is full of interesting goodness. Our author, a long time ‘HR leader’ details 10 of the most important things that separated great interview candidates from the rest of the pack! The good news – these things are not incredibly difficult to achieve. The real news – you need to put in the time. I have nowhere near the experience level as Liz but in our early days of business ownership (and hiring) the few that we’ve offered positions to exhibited at least a few of these traits.
It’s one thing to want a job so bad it hurts. It’s another thing to channel that desire into a proven path forward that gives you the best chance to succeed. I think Liz hits the nail on the head here and if a job interview is in your future, it’d serve you well to check this article out. Or – if you’re on the other side of the interview table and want to quantify what you should be looking for in a candidate, go ahead and read this piece from a different lens. Either way, it’s well worth the read.
Thanks for reading!
