Hello all! Our Saturday morning shout-outs highlight a post/article/book/other that I’ve come across lately that deserves exactly that: a ‘shout-out.’ The goal here is to hopefully introduce my readers to other authors or bloggers that have had an impact on me, my writing, and my life.
This week’s shout-out is: Worst day ever poem written by Chanie Gorkin (a teenager in Brooklyn, from London), shared by various websites, news outlets, and on Twitter. Here, it is reported by a London news station.
Admittedly, I didn’t know what to think when I clicked on this link, so the fact that I was surprised at the outcome wasn’t much of a surprise. This teenager is obviously intelligent and creative, and does a great job illustrating the fact that ‘things are not always how they seem.’ On a Today Show interview, Chanie and her mother admit they were surprised at the poem’s popularity, but that they hope it will continue to serve as a reminder that positive thinking can do much to change your outcome. Read this poem to completion and see for yourself.
Thanks for reading!
